How to send renBTC, renDOGE, renZEC, renBCH from Ethereum directly to Binance Smart Chain (BSC) — mini guide
Warning: This guide contains advanced methods that should not be attempted with funds you cannot afford to lose.
I believe we all are quite excited about the recent news of RenBridge 2 and its increased functionalities with more chains connected (and more to come!).
This mini guide is a quick step by step process of how to send renBTC/renDOGE/renZEC/renBCH from Ethereum directly to Binance Smart Chain (BSC) without having to go through your Bitcoin/Doge/ZEC/BCH wallet. This process can of course be done in reverse as well (from BSC to Ethereum).
This will further down the road be much easier as renVM will support direct links between any host chain. We are a few months away from that functionality, until then, this is how it can be done:
1) Go to RenBridge 2 and proceed with “Agree & Continue” after you have read through the terms of service.
On the next page at the top you can select mint or release, since we want to send from Ethereum first, select “Releasing”. In this example I want to release 0.01 renBTC and at the bottom you can see how much will be released after the small fee is taken, save that number for later (0.00899 BTC in this example).
2) Switch to “Minting”, change “Destination” to Binance Smart Chain and connect your Binance Chain Wallet.
Put in the amount you saved from the previous step (0.00899 BTC in this example) and click next.
Review and click “Confirm” if you agree with all details.
3) Very important that you save the page you are in now as you will need to come back here later again. Bookmark the URL (!!) and click “I understand”.
You will now see the details of your mint and the BTC address which you need to send the BTC to, save/copy this address (“37T…KSatt” in this example).
At this point you should’ve saved the BTC deposit address and the URL as you will need to leave this page temporarily.
4) Now go back to first page of RenBridge 2, repeat step 1 and this time also put in the BTC address which you saved in step 3 where it says “Releasing to”, then proceed with “Next”.
Since you are now going to release/burn your renBTC from the Ethereum chain make sure your connected wallet is on the Ethereum mainnet.
Review the details and press “Confirm” if you agree.
Press “Submit to Ethereum” to initiate the burn/release of your renBTC and then sign the transaction.
Wait for the transaction to confirm and for renVM to release your BTC, this can take a few minutes if Bitcoin network is clogged so be patient.
Once your BTC is released by renVM you will see links to the BTC txs hash and the ethereum burn. You can now press “Back to Start”.
5) Make sure your Binance Chain Wallet is connected to RenBridge 2 and go back to the URL you saved on step 3. You should now see a status bar of your BTC to be minted on BSC as renBTC.
Wait for the 6 confirmations and then submit the txs to BSC and you are done!
Congratulations!! You have now sent renBTC from Ethereum directly to BSC. In a Trustless, Permissionless and Decentralized fashion.
In this example we sent renBTC between the chains, same process will apply for renDOGE, renZEC, renBCH.
Note: This example was done during a period where both ethereum and bitcoin networks were congested and thus the pics will show higher fees than usual for the process.
